“Jump Start Your Life” Award

The purpose of the Jump Start Your Life award offered by Tongass Federal Credit Union (TFCU) is to encourage and recognize well deserving high school seniors in our service area who have overcome obstacles to get to high school graduation. The award provides up to $1,500 which can be used for college, technical school or even to help the student purchase professional clothing as they begin applying for jobs.

Disclosure: The award will be deposited in a Savings or Checking Account at Tongass Federal Credit Union for the winning graduate. A minimum $5.00 must be kept on deposit to keep an account open. There is a $5 closing fee for members under 18 and $25 closing fee for members 18 and over if the account is closed within 90 days of opening.

Soaring Student Activities Sponsorship

To encourage our Youth Members to participate in extracurricular activities, Tongass FCU offers the Soaring Students Activities Sponsorship!

The sponsorship is available to individual students and/or organizes groups of students to help with travel expenses, registration fees, school fees, uniforms, equipment, etc.

The ALPS Award (available to resident members in Sitka & Petersburg)

To provide adult students financial assistance so they can attend a trade school, college, or certified training program that will help them further their careers and improve their financial wellbeing.  The ALPS Award will be awarded to qualifying adult students in the amount of $1,500 per award per applicant per calendar year.
