Programs for Youth
At Tongass FCU, we know that the foundation of a secure financial future starts in childhood, which is why we’re dedicated to helping young members build strong financial habits early. We offer:
- Youth Month: Every October we celebrate Youth Month. A month dedicated to teaching kids about smart saving and spending habits, filled with parties, specials, and prizes to make learning fun. Watch our Facebook page for updates!
- In-School Classes: We host engaging sessions right in the classroom, tailored to different age groups to build a strong foundation in financial literacy. We have a full library or sessions that we can offer focused on vital information presented in fun, creative ways to get kids excited about money! - High School Financial Reality Fairs: With the Financial Reality Foundation, we host these fairs for the schools in the communities we serve. These simulate real-life financial situations, helping students understand the impact of their financial decisions.
- Scholarships: We offer the Jump Start Your Life Scholarship for high school seniors and the ALPS Award for adult students, providing financial assistance to support their educational and career goals. Learn more about our scholarship options.

- Custom Sessions for Local Groups: Covering essential topics like home buying and credit building, but tailored to unique lifestyles and cultures of our Southeast communities.
